Joe Thompson is a mentor, public speaker and chaplain currently serving at the University of Houston as Campus Director through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He has a background mentoring ‘at risk’ youth, professionals, athletes and coaches in the way of faith and manhood. Being a former athlete, Joe played football at Abilene Christian University where he earned a Bachelors in Psychology with a minor in Biblical Studies. Shortly after college he received invitations from three NFL teams, however, he was never signed. In that time of defeat, the life giving nature of discipleship pursued him. There a passion for serving the inner city was developed and one of the greatest moments in his journey happened in marrying his beautiful wife, Rachel. Since then he has welcomed into the world three lovely children. Wanting to go deeper into his passion he started a non profit, Honored Heirs, which exists to restore worth and provide purpose to the individual by teaching about Jesus and the Kingdom of God for the betterment of the community. Once you find out you have an endless supply of love, serving becomes as easy as breathing.
